PONTBLYDDYN produced their best performance of the season to halt Mold’s title charge in Division One.

Mold were eyeing up top spot after a great start to the season while confidence was low in the Pont camp heading into Saturday’s derby clash at Alder Meadow.

Llay’s John Lloyd top scored with 80 and was backed up by Jack Parry’s 37.

The two teams meet again today at Bersham while Bethesda, who are level on points with the leaders, host Dolgellau, who suffered an eight wickets mauling at the hands of Mochdre.
