RESIDENTS in Wrexham have been urged not to buy televisions from the back of a vehicle.

North Wales Police put out a warning about the issue in Rhostyllen earlier this week.

Wrexham Rural Inspector Gavin Gilmore said his team has received reports of people buying the items, which turn out to be an empty shell or broken.

He said: "The vehicle has been going round car parks where lots of people would congregate.

"People are then approached by males asking if they want to buy a tv. "But they are effectively a shell of a TV frame, or they just don't work.

"I'd ask the public to please be vigilant - clearly this is a scam.

"If you see this happening, don't buy it. "Report it to us."
