A FAMILY will be putting on their walking shoes for a cause close to their hearts.
Nick Emberton, from Caergwrle, along with his partner Sophie Dry and four young children, Sophie, Ellie, Jac and Jayden, will aim to walk 5k today in a bid to raise funds for the Nightingale House Hospice.
But they will do so with a twist, each of them will dress up as a lockdown hero as a way of thanking them for their work throughout the pandemic.
After setting the target at £200, the family has already surpassed that with over £300 already.
Nick said: "My brother's fiancée works for Nightingale House and we wanted to do something to help. The kids love dressing up as well so we thought it would be fun for them.
"We will probably walk to Wepre Park and around there to keep the children entertained.
"We are all looking forward to it."
