A STRETCH of the A55 was closed this morning (Wednesday, October 2) due to a herd of cows on the carriageway.
Traffic Wales said that a full carriageway closure was briefly in place at Rhuallt Hill.
A spokesperson said: "Traffic has been temporarily held at this time as cows stage a “moo-vement” on the highway! Looks like they’re just udderly confused about the fast lane.
"Updates to follow."
Traffic monitoring service Inrix reported: "All traffic being temporarily held and queueing traffic due to cows on road on A55 North Wales Expressway both ways from J28 B5429 (Rhuallt / Waen) to J29 (Pant-Y-Dulath).
"Cameras show traffic officers currently working to move the cows off the road."
Traffic Wales has since confirmed the cows have been moved away from the carriageway and traffic has returned to normal.
