THIS WEEK marks a very special anniversary for many Wrexham fans who can re-call witnessing one of the club's finest ever victories.
When it comes to the greatest Reds win of all time, many fans who remember it will say that it was the FA Cup win over Arsenal in 1992 that has stayed in the memory the longest.
However, there was another European night that this week marks its 40th anniversary which is also right up there for many others who are old enough to remember it.
Today (Thursday, October 3) marks 40 years since Wrexham knocked Portuguese giant FC Porto out of the European Cup Winners Cup.
A Jim Steel goal had given Wrexham a brilliant 1-0 win at The Racecourse on September 19 in 1984, but when Porto went 3-0 up in the return leg on October 3, it looked game over.
But two goals from captain Jake King and a last minute volley from Barry Horne made the final score 4-3.
That meant that Bobby Roberts’ side famously went through on away goals on a stormy night in Portugal.
Many of our readers have been getting in touch with us to share their memories of both legs.
Clive Popplewell told us: "Great night in Porto. Felt sorry for the young apprentice lads who were in there nice grey suits. No nice stand seats for them, they were stuck in the corner of the ground with the rest of us and got absolutely soaked. Didn't seem to matter after Barry poked the third goal in though."
