A Wrexham thief who ran from a city-centre store with stolen clothing has been sentenced.
Kevin Jones, of Havard Way, appeared at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
The 45-year-old admitted one offence of theft from shop.
Prosecutor Justin Espie told the court that on June 21 this year, Jones entered Next in Wrexham.
In under a minute, he selected an item of clothing and ran from the store - but the item was recovered
Mr Espie said the defendant was identified through analysis of CCTV footage and then admitted his crime when interviewed by police.
Bethan Jones, defending, told the court: "I ask you to give this man credit for his guilty plea.

"There's little I can say; He recollected he was without funds but doesn't remember why.
"It was an opportunist theft and he apologises unreservedly."
Ms Jones said her client had an "unenviable record" and explained that "when times are hard, he reverts to type."
Magistrates handed down a 12 month conditional discharge for the offence.
Jones must pay a £26 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
