A TALENTED sculptor will be putting on a live demonstration in a Wrexham village this weekend.
Simon O'Rourke has become a well-known figure throughout north Wales down the years for his amazing sculptures he carves with his chainsaw from wood.
Back in 2019, his giant dragon at Bethesda caused 'traffic to slow down' in order to catch a glimpse of it.
More recently, his Deadpool sculpture - in honour of Wrexham AFC co-chairman Ryan Reynolds - caught the eye on social media and beyond as it raised funds for charity.
Back in March, the Leader reported that Simon's life work was set to be put under the spotlight with a documentary of his own showcasing his life and his creations.
And now, Simon has launched his first-ever solo sculpture exhibition.
As of Monday (June 10) until June 23, visitors can pop along (for free!) to the Ebenezer Chapel in Cefn Mawr between midday and 8pm daily to see a range of sculptures which are now on display.
This weekend, to bring that exhibition at the same venue to an end, guests will get the rare opportunity to witness Simon in action.
Between 3pm and 4pm on Sunday (June 23), guests can watch a sculpture being created live and meet Simon.
A bar and light refreshments will be available and there will also be a Q&A session held after the event.

Talking about the exhibition, Simon said: "It’s hard to believe that in so many years as a full-time artist that this is my first solo exhibition – but there it is. The opportunity to share my pieces is always exciting.
He added: "As locals, Liz (Simon's wife) and I want to get more involved with the community and this seemed a great way to start.
"We really hope this exhibition will be a success. I love the idea of promoting Cefn Mawr as more of a destination for culture and tourism. We’ve lived there for nearly nine years and love it. It’s got a great community feel in spite of being quite deprived."
