POLLUTION ALERTS have been flagged in Prestatyn, following two “significant” sewage overflows in the area.
Storm sewage has been discharged from a sewer overflow in the Prestatyn Beach area all week, close to Beach Road East.
Surfers and swimmers were alerted to a sewage discharge by Surfers Against Sewage, which monitors sewage incidents in coastal towns across the UK.
In Prestatyn, two overflows were marked in the area, which the body said “could impact water quality under certain tidal conditions”.

Welsh Water were approached for comment, and told the Journal that no incidents had been flagged with or visited by their teams.
The Surfers Against Sewage alert reads: “Storm sewage has been discharged from a sewer overflow in this location within the past 48 hours.
“There are two significant sewer overflows in the area which could impact water quality under certain tidal conditions.”
Natural Resources Wales were also approached for comment.
