RYAN Reynolds has expressed his emotions following Wrexham AFC's promotion from the National League.

The club's star co-owner was at The Racecourse on Saturday as the Reds beat Boreham Wood 3-1 to secure the league title and promotion back to the Football League after 15 years away.

On Sunday morning, Ryan tweeted summing up his emotions following the rollercoaster journey.

"Everything I own smells like champagne, beer and grass," he said.

"I’m still somewhere between giggling and sobbing. This town and this sport is one of the most romantic things on earth. Thank you, @Wrexham_AFC".

During last night's post-match press conference, Ryan hilariously burst in to the room demanding the shirts of Ben Foster and Elliot Lee.

And during an interview with BT Sport on the pitch following the game, he revealed why he chose Wrexham as the club to buy.

Wrexham fans partied late into the night in scenes not seen there for decades.

There were tears in the stands at the final whistle, especially for those fans whose own money saved the club's very existence.

Wrexham travel to Devon next weekend to face Torquay United as champions. They will then tour the United States this summer on a pre-season tour, in which they will face Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea.
