In September 2022, worldwide traffic to shop.wrexhamafc.co.uk reached 215k monthly visits – up 119% from the month before and up 3,728% from where it was in January.

A look at daily visits over the past 28 days shows that traffic to the merchandise site has spiked each day after the airing of the program.

Similarweb keyword search data shows a huge spike in searches. Over the past month the phrase “Wrexham AFC” generated 70k searches, a phrase that was virtually nonexistent on the web a year earlier.

Jim Corridore, Senior Data Analyst for Similiarweb said: "Data shows that traffic to Wrexham's merchandise site was almost nonexistent before Ryan Reynolds aired the first Wrexham promo.

"Most of Wrexham's merch traffic has occurred since the launch of the show's first promos and then with a subsequent rise in traffic after the first show aired.

"I expect that the show has put the club on the map on a worldwide scale, and this should be a lasting effect, though over time it is likely to lessen.

"Spreading out the shows does seem to have had a beneficial effect, this can be seen by the spikes in traffic to Wrexham's merch site each week the day after a show airs.

"Viewers clearly become engaged with the show and if all the shows were made available to binge, the spikes would probably not occur as they are.

"The show has created a must-see atmosphere it seems.”
