POLICE in Wrexham made "proactive" arrests in the last 24 hours.

North Wales Police's Wrexham City team arrested suspected shoplifters, burglars and alleged perpertrators of assaults.

Inspector Luke Hughes said: "I'll start with a quick appeal on behalf of my colleagues in Wrexham Rural yesterday afternoon. A silver, high top transit van was stolen from Bangor on Dee – it has distinctive ladders on the rear and roof bars. Tthe registration number is FV08OBK – it is likely parked up someone so please report anything suspicious and remember it is likely that the bad guys changed the registration plates and/or alter its appearance, if suspicious let us know.

"Also I am aware that a VW Golf “R” in black has been stolen from the Shropshire area. I would therefore be very keen for you to report any incidents of suspicious activity involving ANY dark VW Golfs please, including if parked up in unusual places. We know the plate has been changed so focus on the vehicle not the plates."
