WREXHAM may have fallen to their first defeat of the season in their latest match, but the stunning support for the club was on full display once more.

Phil Parkinson's men fell to a bitterly disappointing 2-0 defeat away at Chesterfield in the National League on Tuesday evening  (August 16). 

Changes were made to the Reds side which drew 1-1 with Yeovil just a few days earlier and two first-half goals were enough to do the damage on the night.

But, one thing that could not be faulted was the unwavering support for Wrexham.

The Reds had 1,852 supporters who had made the trip down to back their beloved club.

That was well over double the amount of any other away support on show on in the National League on Tuesday evening.

Notts County were closest to that figure with 598 supporters who travelled to watch their 1-1 draw at Gateshead.

Wrexham AFC hailed their following as 'truly incredible' on their Twitter page.

Also in attendance at Chesterfield was co-chairman of Wrexham, Rob McElhenney.

But The It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia star's wait for an in-person Reds win went on as they slumped to defeat at the hands of the Spireites.
