Chirk Library - Fraud and Scam Awareness

We tend to think of fraud as something that happens to other people. In reality, anyone can be a target, so it's important to stay alert. There are lots of things we can do to protect ourselves, but learning about common scams and the tactics criminals use can help us spot when something's not right. Shirley Rogers and Katie Howells, from HSBC bank will be giving a talk at Chirk Library on Friday, August 19, at 2.30pm to raise our awareness of these common scams. The session is free to attend but booking is essential. Please call the library on 01691 772344 to reserve your place.

Nid adolygiad yn y ffurf arferol yw hwn ond efallai tamaid i aros pryd. Dyfynnwn yma rhai o sylwadau'r beirniaid ar ennillydd Gwobr Goffa Daniel Owen Ceredigion 2022. Fel hyn y dyfarnodd un o'r tri beirniad, Manon Steffan Ros: "...Ac ymlaen at 'Capten' gan Polly Preston. Gwirionais fy mhen yn syth â'r nofel hyfryd hon, a methais ei rhoi i lawr. Mae'r arddull yn gynnil ond yn hardd; Y cymeriadau yn gwbl real o'r dechrau un; Y stori'n crisialu cyfnod sydd wedi mynd, heb deimlo'n sentimental nac yn hiraethus. Mae'n anodd meddwl am unrhyw nofel debyg i hon, ond teimlaf fod cryfder y cymeriadau a'u perthynas nhw gyda'u cymunedau yn fy atgoffa o grefft Kate Roberts. Mae hi'n hyfryd, hyfryd, hyfryd o nofel."
