A POPULAR pub restaurant group has been praised for closing for the next two days to help prevent staff "burn out".

The Fat Boar, which has premises in Mold and Wrexham, is closed today (Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday) to give its staff a break.

It took to its social media page to say: "Our industry, like many others, is chronically understaffed at the minute. As a result we’ve been asking our team to put in extra shifts and hours.

"The team is young, enthusiastic and full of energy.

"However we have to protect them from burn out and have taken the decision to give them 48 hours off to re charge their batteries."

It said it has tried to contact everyone who has booked on these days, and is asking anyone who has been missed out to contact them.

They will reopen at Wednesday at 11.30am.

And dozens of people have been praising the chain for its decision.

One person said: "What an amazing decision, enjoy your well earned rest. Excellent to hear of people being put first."

Another added: "It's great to see a company that looks after their staff."

A further comment said: "Well done for putting people before profit."
