An online fitness business is helping men in their 20s and 30s transform their lifestyle as well as their bodies.

Alex Rowlands, who runs AROW Fitness says he is a passionate advocate for people bettering themselves through health and fitness.

AROW Fitness has been running since 2019. Alex was doing personal training on the side for around a year before fully taking the plunge to build AROW Fitness and go full-time at Impact MMA in Rhos.

The pandemic provided an opportunity for the business with all other gyms closed. Alex began doing live workouts on Instagram for free every day and later the business went fully online.

Alex, who grew up and still lives in Rhosllanerchrugog, said that when the left school he felt insecure about himself and had gone down “a few bad paths”.

He first went to the gym at aged 18, and never expected the career he would end up in. He said that early on he worked out that there was a link between exercise and mental health, and now teaches his clients the same.

Alex said: “I know first hand how it feels to be unhappy with yourself and how you feel on a daily basis.

“It wasn’t until I really started taking my health seriously and worked to improve my relationship with myself every day that things started to change.

“Since I have helped hundreds of others do the same.”

AROW helps men in their 20s and 30s manage their food and exercise better so they look in tip top shape, as well as grow and develop as people.

Alex explained that he knows what it's like to struggle to manage it effectively and is on a mission to help men break through that and provide clarity on how people can achieve a lasting transformation across body and life.

The programme they teach includes structured training and nutrition support, help with accountability, and support from the community around them.

AROW Fitness has a one-to-one support area that helps clients through their journey, and also with regular checkpoints to measure progress, daily, weekly, and monthly.

AWROW Fitness is also building a community for everyone with a similar ambition in mind to come together, where men can find consistency and motivation.

Sessions are no longer done face to face, but Alex says it isn't necessary.

He explained: “One hour a week doesn’t really help the client towards the results they need as efficiently.

“So, we take a full 360 approach to attach all of the components when it comes to getting the desired result.

“Although, every month we will get together for a group workout or other activity followed by a feast.

“For example this month there is a large group of us walking up Snowdon to raise awareness for Men’s mental health.”

He added: “I’m really excited to see what else we’ll achieve together by the end of the year.

“Moving forward I am really looking forward to continue building this community and helping 100s of more to a better life.”
