The design of this flagship trailer took its inspiration from the automotive industry with aerodynamic curves and a sculpted “floating roof” that merge together to offer stunning lines. This combined with the large and stylish front window give the HBX a highly recognisable, unique, and iconic design.

It has been superbly engineered with an all-aluminium body, making it lightweight and incredibly easy to tow. It also benefits from Ifor Williams parabolic leaf spring suspension, providing a safe and stable ride. The sides and ramps are all anodised to give a smooth and sophisticated finish which is easy to maintain.

Among the host of intelligent features, is the ability to open the rear of the horsebox as both a ramp and a side-hinged door, and the option to open the front windows fully, or just a little.

The Leader:

Before being launched, the HBX underwent a tough testing regime which included being put through its paces at the Warwickshire test track used by all the main automotive companies.

In addition, it has also been subjected to extreme weather conditions in a climate chamber where the trailers were subject to freezing arctic conditions alternating with blistering hot conditions.

Rob Small, the Head of Sales at Ifor Williams Trailers, said: “Our trailers are already known for cutting edge design, robust durability, and engineering excellence. In short, they are built to last.

The Leader:

“With the HBX, we wanted to go for a sleek, aerodynamic style and we have incorporated the concept of the floating roof with glazing and black aluminium and tinted glass panels all the way around. In the front, we’ve lowered the roof to get that aerodynamic effect.

“Whether you’re parked up or on the move, the large front panel – complete with a steel grill for security and safety – increases natural light, keeping the interior light and bright.

“The front top opening doors provides extra ventilation when the trailer is parked as well as easy access for checking your horses.

“Outside it has an awning rail fitted for awnings that can be put up in in a few minutes, so it can also be a home from home when you’re attending events.”

The Leader:

The HBX range features three models - one suitable for single horse transport and two different sized double horseboxes.
