AN "IMMATURE" Wrexham man has been ordered to pay out hundreds of pounds after an obscene outburst towards his offender manager.

Joshua Teece, of Daisy Road in Brynteg, appeared at Mold Crown Court on Thursday.

The 20-year-old received a suspended sentence last year for headbutting another male in Wrexham’s Primark store and brandishing a knife at a party.

He admitted having breached the conditions of that suspended sentence at this week's hearing, in that he failed to attend an appointment with probation, as well as displaying unacceptable behaviour towards probation staff.

Karl Scholz, representing the probation service, said the incident the court would be "most concerned about" took place at the end of June this year, when Teece was being seen by his offender manager.

Teece, who works at a dry-cleaning firm, became argumentative with her and swore at her numerous times, telling her to "f*** off."

Mr Scholz told the court his behaviour came about because he didn't like what he was being told - namely that the information he was sharing on his phone did not justify his failure to attend an appointment.

Judge Nicola Saffman told the defendant: "You've just turned 20; you're an adult.

"I accept you're immature but you're on a suspended sentence and when that was imposed you were told that if you breach the order you'll come back to court and there's a chance if you being sent to a young offenders institute.

"You need to control your emotions - the probation service are in charge of the suspended sentence order, and of your future."

The Judge handed down a 250 fine and ordered Teece to pay £120 costs, but allowed the suspended sentence to continue.
