A person was taken to hospital following the crash which occurred just after 2pm, the Welsh Ambulance Service has confirmed.

A spokesperson said: “We were called today (03 August) at 2.10pm to reports of a road traffic collision, involving three vehicles, on the A55, Junction 33A eastbound.

"We sent one emergency ambulance and a duty operational manager to the scene, where one person was taken to Countess of Chester Hospital for further treatment.”

A statement from North Wales Police added: "We received a report shortly after 1.30pm today of a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the A55 in Northop Hall, involving three lorries. The road is now clear."

The second incident saw congestion on the A494 at Aston Hill travelling Westbound due to an ongoing incident adjacent to the network.

Lane one has re-opened as of 3pm, but drivers are being warned that delays are ongoing in the area.

Drivers are also being told to 'allow for extra time' when passing both areas as traffic officers continue to deal with the incidents.
