Summer of Fun - Xplore! at your local library

Come and join us for our Summer of Fun as we explore the world of construction with Xplore! the science discovery centre. Throughout August Xplore! will be delivering tailor made interactive sessions on the theme of construction, where children will have the opportunity to dress up as a construction worker, build walls together, and see how high they can make a tower without it falling down. There will be 3D shapes to design new buildings and bridges and much more. The sessions are non-gender specific and are suitable for children aged four-11 years. Booking is essential. Ask your local library for details or follow our social media pages.

Friendship Group at Brynteg Library

One of the most enjoyable ways of socialising and making new friends is to join a group or club. Why not come along and meet people like you - have a chat about matters that are important to you over a good old fashioned cuppa! You can bring along any craft project, a book, a quiz - or just yourself. Refreshments are provided and a warm welcome awaits! The Friendship Group takes place every Thursday, 2pm-4pm.

Symud Gyda Tedi a Hanna Medi

Tedi is one of the main characters in the Magi Ann stories, and is a favourite with children. The popular characters were all created in the 1970s by teacher Mena Evans and by now the Magi Ann books, and more recently the apps, have helped thousands of children in Wales learn to read in Welsh. Symud Gyda Tedi offers fitness sessions for young children using story and song. All sessions are bilingual to encourage the use of the Welsh language. Symud Gyda Tedi will be visiting some of our libraries on Wednesday, August 10. They will be at Wrexham Library 10.30am-11.30am; Cefn Mawr Library 1.30pm-2.15pm, and Llay Library 3pm-3.45pm. Come along and join in the fun!

Defodau gan Rebecca Roberts

Defodau by Rebecca Roberts

Defodau by Rebecca Roberts

Gweinydd yw Gwawr, sef un sy'n cynnal seremonïau enwi, priodasau ac angladdau digrefydd. Mae hi'n cynnal defodau sy'n helpu pobl i ddathlu diwrnodiau gorau eu bywydau, ac i gofio am y meirw. Mae hi'n dda wrth ei gwaith, ac yn falch o'i henw da. Ond am flynyddoedd lawer mae Gwawr wedi cuddio y tu ôl i'r ddelwedd berffaith mae hi wedi ei chreu; wedi mygu ei hiselder y tu ôl i fwgwd o barchusrwydd a phroffesiynoldeb. Pan gaiff y bai ar gam am ddifetha priodas cleient enwog aiff ei henw da yn deilchion, a does ganddi ddim byd arall i'w chynnal. Yn waeth na hynny, ymddengys bod rhywun yn gweithredu'n faleisus yn ei herbyn - yn benderfynol o'i dinistrio! Dim ond drwy ail-ymweld â chyfnod anoddaf ei bywyd y gall Gwawr ddarganfod pwy sy'n ceisio difetha ei gyrfa a'i busnes. Mae'n brofiad heriol, ydy, ond daw cefnogaeth o gyfeiriadau annisgwyl. Gyda chymorth ei chleientiaid a'i ffrindiau, dysga Gwawr wersi pwysig am natur bywyd, cariad a cholled. Ond ar ôl blynyddoedd o gadw pobl o hyd braich, a fydd caniatáu iddi ei hun fod yn fregus yn arwain at ragor o boendod a thor-calon?
