More than three years ago the Leader Camera Club was launched, and now has almost 1,000 members from across Wrexham, Flintshire and beyond.

In our feature - Behind the Lens - we meet some of those in the group who share their images and take part in challenges, contributing to the galleries in print and online.

When and why did you take up photography?

It was about four years ago, I went to a gig in Liverpool to watch a local band from Wrexham, The Cazales. While at the gig I started taking a few pictures of the band on my iPhone. It was from there really that my love for photography grew. A couple of months later my dad bought me my first camera.

What do you love about taking pictures?

I just love to show people the beauty around us through my eyes!

Where is your favourite place to take pictures?

My favourite place would have to be, Snowdonia, especially Dinorwic quarry. The quarry is full of history and beautiful scenery.

What equipment do you use?

I currently use a canon 90D with a different range of lenses

What do you enjoy about being part of the Leader Camera Club?

I love to see everyone's photographs and the beautiful places everyone visits.

If you could photograph anyone or any place who/what would it be?

If I had to pick one place to photograph it would have to be Mount Everest, it is somewhere I have always wanted to visit and I would love to hike to Base Camp one day.

Anything else you think we should know?

Not really photography related but I am currently raising funds to light up my local cenotaph in Coedpoeth as a permanent fixture.

It was something my dad and had wanted to achieve before he passed suddenly in 2020, so I decided with the help of the local community to finish this project for him and our fallen soldiers.
