TRAIN services in North Wales have been disrupted this morning (Thursday, July 14) due to a fallen tree on the tracks.

National Rail say a tree has been blocking the railway at Chirk, causing delays.

This had been affecting services running between Shrewsbury and Wrexham General.

National Rail confirmed that the tree had been removed just after 8am.

However, delays are expected to conntinue until around 8.30am this morning.

A statement from National Rail read: "The tree blocking the railway at #Chirk has now been removed, allowing trains to run again between Shrewsbury and Wrexham General.

"Whilst service recovers, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 10 minutes or revised."
