Owner, Sara King spoke of her pride towards all the students who have worked incredibly hard over the last year: “It’s not about us – it’s about the students. We don’t just teach hair and beauty; we’re teaching them life skills.

“When the girls first came here, anything you asked, they would say ‘I can’t do that’, we have a saying here that there is no such word as ‘can’t’ in the academy. Within weeks, the work they have produced has been phenomenal.

“We don’t treat the girls like children. We treat them like young adults – we support them, and we believe in them.

“I’m just really proud and really choked.”

The Leader:

Manager and educator, Ceri Brayford added: “It’s about giving these girls an opportunity and having someone believing in them. They’re achieving something here and I hope it gives them some self-belief.”

Sara and Ceri along with fellow educators, Kay and Julie couldn’t hold back their smiles at just how far the students have come. The team is also on the hunt for another educator and stylist to join Oasis.

Any pupil aspiring to enrol onto the Oasis Hair and Beauty Academy should contact their school.
