A CRASH in Colwyn Bay which saw a person taken to hospital has caused traffic congestion, with people being urged to avoid the area concerned.
This involved a car and a pedestrian on Abergele Road, with the casualty transported to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in Rhyl.
North Wales Police (NWP) said: “Due to a RTC (road traffic collision) on Abergele Road (near Cefn Road/ Coed Coch Road) in Colwyn Bay, traffic is heavy.
“Therefore, please avoid the area. Thank you.”
A NWP spokesperson added: "We received a call at 3.24pm reporting a RTC involving a car and a pedestrian on Abergele Road in Colwyn Bay.
"Officers are currently in attendance with colleagues from the Welsh Ambulance Service Trust.
"Motorists are advised to find alternative routes whilst we deal with this incident."
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson later confirmed: “We were called today at 3.18pm, to reports of a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian on Abergele Road, Colwyn Bay.
"We sent two emergency ambulances to the scene and one person was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd for further treatment.”
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service was not in attendance.
