A LIVERPOOL man is to be sentenced after admitting a series of offences committed in one day in North Wales.

Warren Debnam, of Newby Street, appeared at Mold Crown Court on Friday morning.

The 36-year-old admitted that on November 6 last year he drove a Vauxhall Insignia dangerously on Mold Road, Connah's Quay.

He further admitted that on that occasion he drove whilst disqualified, with excess alcohol, with no insurance and that he failed to stop after an accident.

Debnam entered additional guilty pleas to two offences of damaging police property in Wrexham on the same date.

James Coutts, defending, invited the court to consider adjourning the matter for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.

He said since committing the North Wales offences, the defendant had served a short prison sentence and been released on licence.

Since being released, Mr Coutts said, he has "taken significant steps and made a lot of progress" with regards to his rehabilitation.

He said while there was "no getting away from the fact that this is bad offending," his client had essentially "come to a crossroads" in his life and needs to make changes.

Alcohol and drugs are "clearly an issue he needs to address," he added, but said Debnam had engaged with support groups in respect of those.

Judge Nicola Saffman adjourned the sentence to July 28 in order for a report to be compiled on him.

She said while she couldn't promise him anything regarding the sentence, a "favourable" report would "clearly assist" him.
