A charity for people with learning difficulties will be climbing Snowdon next week to raise money for a huge party this summer on behalf of the Luv2MeetU North Wales service.

Luv2MeetU North Wales is a friendship and relationship service for people with disabilities which is run by Hft Flintshire.

The money raised will help to hire a venue with a DJ and arrange food and games so club members can have a night to celebrate their achievements and friendships.

Hft is a national charity that creatively supports more than 2,200 adults with learning disabilities across England and Wales to live the best life possible.

Hft also helps people with learning disabilities take part in daily activities, make friends, and develop relationships and to find work.

A Hft team will be taking on the climb on June 29. The team includes staff members Ellie Roche and Terri Jones and they will be joined by four people in which they support; Kieran Scarry, Dyfan Roberts, Mags Lewis and Aidan Dunn.

Ellie said: “At Luv2MeetU North Wales, we always want to encourage our club members to live an independent and empowered life. Climbing up Snowdon is not only a great physical challenge, but also challenges the stereotypes and barriers people with learning disabilities and/or autism face around how much they can achieve. We are passionate that our club members can achieve anything they want to, and this is just one example.”

The team aims to raise £400 – donations can be made at Ellie's justgiving page for Hft.
