The group were served with a Section 77 notice from Wrexham County Borough Council (WCBC), telling them to leave by noon today (Wednesday, June 22).

The Leader:

But according to local county councillor, Tina Mannering, this has been ignored.

She said: "Not good news - the encampment has ignored the Section 77 notice served to vacant by 12pm today by WCBC.

"Next steps are to apply to the court for a Section 78 notice of a hearing in court with a date and time to gain an eviction notice.

"We will do this ASAP - the legal team are waiting on a slot available in the court."

One local resident said their child's football team which use the playing fields had to move last night's training session due to the presence of the encampment.
