HUNDREDS of families and cosplayers enjoyed Chester Comic Con on Sunday.

Returning to Chester Racecourse after the pandemic, the convention was bigger and better than ever.

Attendees could meets special guests such as Gladiators Jet and Zodiac, Doctor Who actor Paul McGann, and "Darth Vader" Spencer Wilding.

There were also artists such as Jeff Cummins as well as independent comic creators like Flintshire-based Hellbound Media.

Many of those attending chose to cosplay, dressing as their favourite characters from comic books, manga, movies and television.

On Facebook, organisers Stuart, Angela and Mark posted: "The morning after the day before! What a day, it was so good getting back to it after such a long forced break, we really hope all who attended whether customer, trader or guest enjoyed themselves. It's a long five months of prep but when you get a day like that its worth it (and the weather just about held out).

"We would like to take the opportunity to thank a few people who believe us without, it just wouldn't happen.

"Firstly, our new host and MC Steve Healey, Nerd OD and The Cosplay Collective who took care of stage, entertainment and the Cosplay Comps, hopefully long term additions.

"Helen Sheridan , Chris Stening and Bernadette Travers who tirelessly took control of our reception/held desk, Helen you are a diamond.

"Eddie Welch and Derek Jones who we ran ragged not only on the day but for 6 hours the day before.

"Our friends and family who year on year come down on the day and dutifully do as they are told 🙂

"And finally to all our cosplay friends who do us proud on promo days and getting the event out there on social media..

"Until next time!"
