A tattoo shop which offers temporary tattoos has appeared in Central Arcade in Wrexham after a bit of lockdown creativity snowballed into a popular business.

Noo Tattoo originally opened as a permanent tattoo studio down Central Arcade in 2020 however the pandemic hit shortly after.

Artist and owner, Steph Noo decided that she would create temporary tattoos as a way to keep engaging with customers and keep herself busy during the lockdown.

The tattoos were posted out to customers, to try out before lockdown was lifted, or just to pass the time with their children, and they snowballed from there, and so the ‘secret garden’ and its in-house artists were created.

It is now an extension of Noo Tattoo, and Steph says that they can now become even more inclusive, offering body art to everyone. Customers can now get both permanent and temporary tattoos, and if a customer likes their temporary tattoo, they can get a permanent version.

Noo tattoo has been based around customers with mental health issues and anxiety and so is a calming, relaxing environment as the team believes that body art is important to those who may be struggling to express themselves.

Currently, there are four artists at Noo Tattoo, Ryan McKenzie, a colour/abstract artist, Alliyah Purdie-Jones, a colour portrait artist, Heather Burrows, a blackwork illustrator, and Steph.

Noo Tattoo has also teamed up with Shaun Price from Blu Pagan Arts photography to offer UV body painting boudoir shoots to promote body confidence.

Custom-designed temporary tattoos are available from all the artists, as well as body art, glitter tattoos, and colour henna.

Artwork, false piercings, false tattoo sleeves and jewellery are also available.

Steph said: “I am so proud of my team of artists, they are the loveliest, most talented bunch! Noo Tattoo studio as a whole means so much to me personally as I’ve found expressing myself through body art a huge help to my own mental health struggles, I want to be able to spread the word, whether its as a permanent Noo body art or a temporary decoration or cover. Giving yourself a bit of art to wear always helps!”
