AN AWARD-winning family butchers is to open a shop in Deeside.
David Joinson and Sons Quality Meats, which has been based at Chester Market for the last 32 years, is opening up a shop in Unit 16 on Queensferry Industrial Estate, on Chester Road.
The butchers, which also has an existing shop in Boughton, Chester, will be opening in a couple of months time. The business is run by David Joinson, alongside his sons, Jamie and Adam.
Jamie Joinson said: "We're so excited - it’s a massive change from Chester but I live round the corner in Sandycroft after I moved there 5 years ago.
"I see how much great potential the area has - it’s got so busy since the new Co-op opened on the industrial estate and that’s why we wanted to take the unit next door. It's the perfect place to expand our business."
The business has won a host of awards for its pies and sausages, including Cheshire's Best Sausage on five occasions.
The butchers also supplies restaurants and pub, including the prestigious Grosvenor Hotel in Chester, the Glasfryn and the Fat Boar in Mold (and Wrexham/Ruthin), and retail/wholesalers.
