BIKE owners have been urged to be careful when advertising items for sale through social media.
The warning, from Wrexham Town's police team, comes after "a recent increase in reported thefts"
A spokesman for the team said two recent reports have involved motorcycles that were advertised for sale on social media 'marketplace' sites.
Supposed 'buyers' have attended properties to view the vehicles before requesting a test ride on the road.

The vehicles have then been taken and not returned to the owner.
Insp Luke Hughes said: "Ultimately the advice is to take care on social media, never allow a test drive/ride and always ensure you can verify the identity of the seller.
"Equally, if your bike or motorcycle is out of use then please ensure it is secured with a ground anchor-type device, or other suitable lock."
