PROPOSALS for a number of new industrial units in Saltney have been submitted.

A planning application received by Flintshire Council seeks permission for the erection of nine "flexible-use" light industrial and storage units.

The scheme is proposed at the Borders 1 Industrial Estate at River Lane.

A statement submitted with the scheme, on behalf of J D Developments, explains: "The site comprises vacant land on part of The Borders 2 Industrial Estate.

"The site has formed part of the larger Industrial Estate since its development in the late 1970s.

"It is the objective of the applicant to introduce new, flexible employment space on the site to enhance the use of the land in a way that is more appropriate for its location, and in accordance with local planning policy objectives.

"Achieving flexible industrial employment space also ensures that the development can respond to changing market conditions."
