BICYCLE owners in Wrexham have been urged to remain vigilant following "several" recent thefts.
The warning came from Wrexham Town Police team Sergeant David Smith on Monday afternoon.
He said: "There has been some recent theft of pedal cycles across the town centre.
"People have chained them up but they're unfortunately not sufficient chains.
"It can be expensive to invest in crime prevention equipment, however it is there for a reason; to stop people taking your property

"There's an opportunist out there, and if anyone has any information we'd encourage them to come forward to us or speak to Crimestoppers.
"We're out there providing a visible presence to deter them and we're undertaking enquiries to identify that individual or individuals.
"I'd ask the community to remain vigilant and take appropriate steps to protect your property, for example by purchasing security equipment or marking your bike online.
"We will be holding bike marking events across the town which we will be putting on our Facebook and Twitter pages."
