WREXHAM AFC's latest victory has got the whole town dreaming of a return to the English Football League once more.

Following a 14-year absence from the 'big time', Phil Parkinson's Reds are now on the cusp of making a comeback.

Sunday (May 8) saw Wrexham beat Stockport County 3-0 to leapfrog their opponents to the top of the National League table on goal difference.

The latter have a game in hand at home v Torquay United tonight (May 11), but should they drop points it will make for a very interesting final day of the season come Sunday (May 15).

That day, Wrexham could face a trip to Dagenham and Redbridge knowing that the title could well still be on the line and hoping to become champions.

And, of course, a place in the play-offs has been secured regardless of what happens over the next few days.

The atmosphere at the Racecourse was once again electric in the club's latest win on Sunday as a crowd of 10,118 people was in attendance - a record at National League level for Wrexham.

The Leader:

As always, the Reds players were on hand to put some smiles on faces both on and off the pitch.

Pictured above is Izzy Lewis who managed to grab a picture with Wrexham top scorer Paul Mullin.

Her granddad Adrian Roberts said: "He was such a gentleman and kind to Izzy. I can’t thank him enough."

The Leader has also received some pictures from the club's official photographer, Gemma Thomas.
