WREXHAM Clothing Exchange's 'Swop not Shop' returns this weekend - but with a twist.

The event sees people come together to donate clothes, as well as pick up a new wardrobe themselves with credits received from the garments they donate.

On Saturday, May 14, the event will take place at Wrexham Clothing Exchange's new home at the Heart Rock Live in Eagles Meadow.

This event will be the first time it will also run a book exchange.

Sharon Rogers, lead organiser said: “Since our inception, one of our goals was to run a monthly book exchange but have never had the space to do so.

"After our first successful ‘Swop’ event last month at our new venue, Heart Rock Live, we knew we could run it concurrently with our Clothing Exchange and still have space for a clothing repair café as well welcome our friends at Incredible Edible Wrecsam for them to hold a ‘Give and Take’ stall.

PIC: Will you find something that takes your fancy at the Wrexham Clothing Exchange event?

“However, The Book Exchange will be run differently to 'Swop Not Shop', it will be free but the limit on books donated will be five per person. If you don’t have books to bring but something takes your eye, please leave a small cash donation.

"We are also excited to announce that there will be a repair café this month. Our volunteer, Beccy Cartwright will be available on Saturday to do basic clothing repairs and alterations. For a small donation, if anyone finds items at the swap that need shortening or would like to bring an item from home that needs fixing, please come along to this Saturday’s ‘Swop not Shop’.”
