FOCUS Wales 2022 has begun, which 250+ artists showcasing their talent over the course of three days in Wrexham.

Yesterday (Thursday, May 5) was the first day of the international music festival which presented emerging Welsh talent, alongside acts from around the world in multiple venues across Wrexham.

Talented musicians performed in the likes of Ty Pawb, Central, the Parish, the Fat Boar and even St Giles Parish Church.

Music fans got to see bands like Public Service Broadcast, Peaness, Honeyglaze and Hazmat perform across the town centre, along with solo acts like Cara Hammond and Kizzy Crawford.

Internationally, France’s Dahlia performed at Ty Pawb, where band Vagina Witchcraft also took to the stage, having come from Canada.

It is predicted that 15,000 people will have visited Wrexham by the end of the festival on Saturday, May 7.

Performances start up once again from 5.30 pm tonight where BreakOut West Mixer will be at Ty Pawb.

Tonight the Royston Club will be performing at Ty Pawb at 10pm, Mace The Great at 10.20pm in Penny Black, and Hazmat are back at the Wynnstay Hotel from 10.40pm.

Performances will continue late into the night which HENGE in Room 1 of Central from 12.30am.

On Saturday the performances begin earlier in the day, with Hope St playing host to Shade at 1pm.

Echo & The Bunnymen will perform at Llyn Isaf from 8.30 pm, the Crawlers in Central, Room 1, from 10.30 pm and many more.

Other events in the festival include HWB Cymraeg and film at Hafod Theatre.
