WREXHAM AFC have beaten a 'biggest attendance' record they set just four days ago as over 10,000 spectators attended the Racecourse this afternoon.

Earlier today, the Leader reported that the Reds had enjoyed their biggest home crowd in a league match since 2007 in the 1-1 draw v Solihull Moors on Good Friday.

A crowd of 9,971 turned up to watch that match unfold as Ollie Palmer's goal sealed a point agains their promotion rivals.

However, in today's 4-0 league win over Altrincham, that record was beaten once more as the unrivalled support for the club continued.

Wrexham‘s first 19 home league games of this season have all attracted attendances in excess of 5,000 for the first time since the 1978-9 season.

And that was no different at the Racecourse this afternoon as a mammoth 10,022 spectators were in attendance.

That is now, once again, officially the highest league attendance there has been at the ground since 2007, when Wrexham were in the English Football League.

It is also the highest attendance ever recorded for a National League game involving Wrexham.

The victory over Altrincham, thanks to goals from Paul Mullin (2), Ollie Palmer and Jordan Davies sees the Reds stay in second place in the National League table.

It also takes Phil Parkinson's side's unbeaten run up to 15 matches.

Just last week, co-owner of the club and Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds hailed the support for the team as being 'like nothing else'.

And there certainly appears to be a buzz both on and off the field in the North Wales town at this moment in time.

Could this be the year we finally see Wrexham make their long-awaited return to the English Football League? Time will tell ...
