A BRASS band is being congratulated on their great achievement of qualifying for the National finals, where they will represent Wales.

Northop Silver Band have qualified for the National Brass Band finals and will represent Wales at the Royal Albert Hall in London in October.

It was a tremendous achievement against tough opposition at the Welsh championships that were held in Swansea on March 20. The band came third overall.

It was a successful start as the first competition with their new influential conductor Daniel Brooks. They will now take their place to represent Wales alongside the top 20 brass bands in the UK.

Band chairman Graham Williams praised the incredible performance and highlighted that a third of the band were making their debut at the top level having progressed through the organisation.

Praising the dedication, commitment, and hard work in getting to the competition after a long break due to the pandemic, the chairman also stated that the organisation welcomes all new players, whether they be learners or more experienced players to join.
