A LLANGOLLEN landmark be lit up blue to show support for the people of Ukraine tonight (Sunday, March 6).

From 6pm onward, Castell Dinas Bran - which sits on a hilltop above the Denbighshire town - will be lit up for an hour-and-a-half.

ASG Audio and Visual, who are based in the town, are once again behind the light up display - just as they have been previously.

They have team up with the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley team to show that North Wales stands in solidarity with Ukraine amid the Russian invasion of the country.

ASG Director Scott Cooper said: "Tonight ASG Audio Visual and Bryniau Clwyd a Dyffryn Dyfrdwy - Clwydian Range and Dee Valley have teamed up to illuminate Castell Dinas Bran as a show support for Ukraine.

Here's why Llangollen's Castell Dinas Bran was lit up on Christmas Eve

"The lights will be getting switched on about 6pm and will run until 7.30pm. Please feel free to come up to get some pictures."

Castell Dinas Brân is a medieval castle occupying a prominent hilltop site above the town of Llangollen.

It is believed that the presently visible castle was probably built in the 1260s by Gruffydd Maelor II, a prince of Powys Fadog, on the site of several earlier structures, including an Iron Age hillfort.
