A WREXHAM cycling team is celebrating it's success as the end of the league leaves them with a number of trophies.

Fibrax Wrexham Roads Club took home the collection of trophies after six races in the North Wales Cyclocross League.

Brymbo Sports and Social Complex hosted the season finale on Sunday (February 6) in what turned out to be the hardest and muddiest race of the season.

The adults raced last and Cheri Mills continued her off road form from last year to battle against the muddy conditions to win the race and the women’s overall league.

Dyfan Evans rode consistently throughout the series to win the overall male league.

Both Cheri and Dyfan thanked all the volunteers, organisers and host venues for making the seasons races happen under difficult circumstances after a break last winter.

In the youth races, Aisling Charlesworth continued the form that saw her win the Welsh Cyclocross Championships earlier in the season and won the under 12 girls league and was closely followed by Bethan Pimble who came second.

Aoife Charlesworth won the under 10 girls league, closely followed by Polly and Maggie Pimble in third.

Other notable performances from the club included Adam Morris who finished eighth on the day in the seniors and Jan Kardasz who won the vet 60 category race who also won a Welsh Champions Jersey earlier in the season.

Ethan Said secured fourth in the under 8s boys category in his first cyclocross season.

Darcy Theobold also completed her first cyclocross race in the under 8s and both dubbed ‘stars of the future’.
