LOCATING a man wanted for five years and an arrest of a motorist found to be over three times the legal alcohol limit are amongst recent incidents dealt with by police in Wrexham.

Officers from North Wales Police's Wrexham Rural team have had a busy couple of days with arrests and ongoing incidents.

On Wednesday, officers started the day by arresting a man wanted on a recall to prison, followed shortly later by another man wanted for failing to appear at Mold Crown Court.

A few hours later, another man made off from officers. With the assistance of colleagues from the Wrexham Town policing team, the police helicopter and a dog unit, he was located and arrested.

It transpired that a warrant had been issued at a Crown Court in London back in 2016 for his arrest.

And on Thursday afternoon, officers arrested another man in Chirk on suspicion of drink driving and possessing a bladed article in a public place.

He registered a breathalyser reading of 112 - with the legal limit being 35.
