A DRIVER has been fined for speeding on the A483 in Johnstown.
Piotr Gorski, 42, was stopped by police on the morning of July 11 after driving his BMW car at a speed of 91mph in a 70mph zone.
Gorski, of Brynteg Crescent, Brynteg, had admitted the offence and had begun to pay the fixed penalty of £100 in instalments.
However, he did not realise he had to send his driving licence to the DVLA for penalty points to be endorsed, which is why the case was reopened at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Friday.
He attended court and the proceedings were relayed to him through a Polish language interpreter.
He was fined £100 and must pay a surcharge of £34 to fund victims services.
Due to the circumstances he was not asked to pay court costs.
