TEAMWORK between officers on the ground and the police helicopter helped detain a suspect in Wrexham.

North Wales Police's Rural Crime Team said whilst on patrol in the Plas Power Woods area on Wednesday, one of its officers assisted in the pursuit of a man who made off from officers across fields and woodland.

The policing team said, with assistance with the police helicopter, the man was soon detained and found in possession of drugs.

The National Police Air Service North West said: "Great to see the crew of NPAS22 post tasking in Wrexham earlier, where having located a wanted male on camera, due to the rural location and the male being intent on evading arrest, the crew landed on and detained the male before local officers arrived."
