North Wales Police have issued advice to homeowners following a spate of burglary attempts across Wrexham and Flintshire.
There were a number of reported burglaries and burglary attempts in the build up to Christmas, and they have continued into the New Year, with a number of incidents spotted on CCTV recently.
As a result, North Wales Police have given residents some tips to try and avoid these offences taking place.
A post on their community alerts page said:
"Twilight burglaries normally occur between the hours of 6pm and 11pm. We all want to try and avoid this type of offence occurring. Therefore, please keep your home and valuables safe by doing the following:
"Keep a light on when you go out.
"Invest in outside lighting.
"Lock all windows and doors, even when you are at home.
"Don’t leave valuable items on display.
"Report any suspicious activity in your area to the police.
"If you are not sure, don’t open the door."
If you do witness anything suspicious, Police are encouraging residents to call 101 non emergency or 999 in an emergency.
