THE 41st Wrexham Scout Group will once again be bringing joy to those less fortunate this Christmas by collecting presents for the Wrexham Maelor Hospital's children's ward.

This is the third year that the group will be gathering unwrapped presents for the children - a scheme which returns after being unable to run in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

One of the group leaders Laura Watkins said: "The presents are for any age from 0-18, male/female and for children with extra challenges. We ask that the presents be as expensive as anyone can afford and would prefer several small presents to one larger one.

"In the past we have given 100 presents each Christmas to the ward.

"As Scouting is a young person organisation, we as a group see this as a way to ensure that even if the children are in a hospital setting, they should still get to enjoy Christmas and it reminds our young people about those less fortunate than they are."
