HOLYWELL Town Council is on the lookout for two new councillors to come on board after two resigned from their respective positions recently.
Casual vacancies have arisen in the Holywell West Ward following the resignation of councillors Andy Trumper and Lynda Carter.
Anyone wishing to apply for either role should contact the Returning Officer's address; Flintshire County Council, County Hall, Mold, Flintshire, CH7 6NR or call (01352) 702329.
Rule 5(2) of The Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) (England and Wales) Rules, 2006 now applies.
The rule allows ten electors for the Community Ward of Holywell West in which the casual vacancy has arisen to request the Returning Officer to hold an election to fill the vacancy.
That request must be made within 14 days, of the date of the notice (which will be Monday, December 6).
If no request is made the Community Council must, as soon as practicable after the expiry of the fourteen-day period, co-opt a person to fill the vacancy.
