FOUR people have been arrested following a 'Free Palestine' protest on the roof of a Wrexham factory.

At 7am on Monday, Palestine Action activists gathered on the roof of the Solvay factory on Wrexham Industrial Estate in protest to suppliers of Israeli drone manufacturer Elbit Systems Ltd.

Palestine Action claims that Solvay provides materials and adhesives for UAV Tactical Systems Ltd - a subsidiary of Elbit Systems, which provides 85% of Israel's drone fleet.

The protesters sprayed red paint on the building, and were heard shouting 'Free Palestine'.

Police negotiators were deployed to the location and attempted to negotiate with the protestors during the course of the day.

North Wales Police was joined by North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Welsh Ambulance Service as well as specialist police officers from the region to ensure that the incident was brought to a safe conclusion at around 8.50pm.

Four individuals have been arrested and an investigation has commenced in relation to damage caused to the Solvay building, police said.
