A FLINTSHIRE high school has been left "heartbroken" over the death of one of its students.
Connah's Quay High School has confirmed the tragic news that one of its Key Stage 4 students (GCSE age) sadly died on Friday morning.
A statement from the school's headteacher, Amanda Harrison, said the "school family is hurting" - but will support students through this "heartache".
"Our thoughts immediately go to the learner's family," she said.
"Words cannot adequately express the shock and pain which has stricken them and the heartbreak felt."
Mrs Harrison said professional help will be available to students most affected by the tragedy.
"This is a communication no school should ever have to send," she added.
"We truly appreciate the support families are already beginning to show to learners and staff in such tremendously difficult times.
"Connah's Quay High School is a family. Our family is hurting but we will support each other to ensure we come through this heartache."
