A small business owner is asking people to support their local high streets, as she approaches her first year of trading.

Kate Jones opened Glamour House, a women and children's clothes and accessories store, in Buckley in December last year.

But just days later, like so many other businesses, she was forced to close with the arrival of another lockdown.

But now Kate is getting ready to celebrate her first anniversary, and let people know "I'm here".

She will be getting into the festive spirit to mark her 12 months in business, and it's a real family affair, with mum Gay Smith joining in.

Kate said: "My mum has done the Christmas windows.

"And on Thursdays throughout December, there will be late night opening until 8pm, with mince pies and prosecco, and every person who spends over £40 gets a free gift."

Despite a difficult year, Kate has experienced plenty of positives.

She said: "Everyone that comes in, always comes back. Everyone that comes in, always buys.

"We cater for just about everyone, stocking sizes from 8 to 30, with a range of gifts and accessories, including shoes and bags.

"I just need people to know I'm here."

With Small Business Saturday on November 27, Kate's message is timely.

The pandemic saw people turn to their local traders, with many discovering some for the first time.

And with Christmas fast approaching, there has never been a better time to celebrate the uniqueness on our high streets.
