PLANS for the building of a paper mill in Deeside are amongst the latest applications received by Flintshire Council.

Last week, a planning application was submitted for the erection of a Paper Processing Mill to produce and manufacture tissue paper with office space at The Airfields development site in Sealand.

It includes associated servicing and infrastructure, such as car parking, HGV parking and vehicle and pedestrian circulation. It would also include noise mitigation features; earthworks to create development platforms; and the creation of drainage features - including a new outfall to the River Dee, water treatment plant and landscaping.

Plans have also gone in for a traveller site at land near Wyldecrest, Willow Brook Park, Station Road, Sandycroft.

It would comprise a two-pitch family traveller site, with two day rooms and general storage of personal business equipment.

It would also see the erection of a 2.4m high wooden boundary fence and entrance gates with improved access onto Station Road.

Other notable applications received by Flintshire Council over the last week include:

  • Erection of a temporary performance village adjacent to Theatre Clwyd, Raikes Lane, Mold.
  • Change of use from public house/restaurant to private dwelling at Bridge Inn, Hawarden Road, Caergwrle
  • Change of use from agricultural land to tourism facility to provide six lodges, together with access and associated landscaping and planting at Waen Y Lloc, Pen Ffordd Llan, Holywell.
  • Change of use of agricultural buildings to holiday let accommodation and associated infrastructure at Tyn Celyn, Afonwen.
  • Change of use of office space at 86 The Highway, Hawarden into a physiotherapy clinic. Will comprise of one physiotherapy treatment room and one adjacent reception/waiting area.
  • Demolition of existing bungalow and outbuildings. Erection of 3 new bungalows at 26 Queensway, Shotton.
