This September saw thousands of the region's youngsters start primary school for the first time.
We take a look at the new starters in reception classes from across Wrexham and Flintshire, in the first of several photo galleries.
Here there are beaming smiles and bright school jumpers, as schools geared up for a new way of life in the classroom, in light of the pandemic.
